Final Project

Artistic Statement
"The Gym" is a restaurant/ bar that is designed to look like a work out facility. From the outside looking in, you would think it was an actual gym. The inside is decorated with workout equipment, tvs, and pump up music playing. The bar tenders and waiters are dressed in black workout pants, sneakers, and a "Gym" t-shirt. The atmosphere is very down to earth and fun, you don't have to dress to impress to come hang out and get a drink at The Gym.  The target audience is anyone is old enough to drink, the prices are really low because I want everyone to be able to afford and enjoy the food. Using InDesign was a struggle for me, but I'm happy with the way everything turned out. The business car, letterhead, and brochure have a faded picture of beer in the background to give it that fun, care-free appeal. The menu is simple and easy to read, focusing on pictures of yummy food.

Business Card Mock Ups

These are the mock-up business cards I did. I chose to go with the second to last one, with the beer in the background. I wanted to keep it really simple but this gave it a fun touch.

1)   What is your business?
"The Gym"

2)   Describe your business in one sentence
A bar made to resemble a gym inside and out.

3)   Who is your target audience?
Any of or above the age of twenty-one: male and female, younger to middle age, average income.

4)   Who are your competitors?
Any other bars in the area.

5)   What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
Marketing the bar as a gym is something different. Most bars can't set themselves apart from one another besides an interesting menu, or a drink special, but this is truly something unique.

6)   Do you currently have an identity?
No

1)   How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
When some one's friend say "I'm going to the gym," I want the company to be so popular that they have to distinguish between an actual work out facility or this bar.

2)   If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
A gorilla, because it's strong but also kind.

3)   If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Ashton Kutcher because he is someone that makes people laugh and have a good time, which is exactly what you want to be doing at a bar. He also has a jokster kind of personality which would fit in perfectly with the character of the bar.

4)   If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
A keg, because the company is known for having the best beer.

5)   If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Stewie from family guy

Project 4: Lyrical Collage

The song this collage represents is called "Whiskey Lullaby." The larger image of the cowboy picking the girl up on the left represents a happy time and the love these two shared was strong. It's faded because the women has since betrayed the man, breaking both their hearts. He takes his life, and is buried under a willow tree. She cant take the guilt and ends up following in his footsteps. The most difficult part of the collage was the grave stone, no matter what I do to it, I cant get it to look natural. I wanted it to look abstract, and representational to the story the song explains. That's why the images aren't proportional to real life.

Assignment: Self-Insertion

As soon as this assignment was announced I knew I was going to place myself swimming with dolphins. I have loved them since I was little and hope someday I can make this picture into reality. It was really hard to get the coloring to match, because the original picture of me was poor quality. The shadows and highlights were more difficult than I expected, but I really liked the idea of choosing a picture that was underwater.
